Long before Fabland’s heroes ever rose, there was Primora, a realm where Light and Shadow existed in perfect harmony. From that balance, the Guardians were born, and with them emerged Maxi, not a machine, but a conscious intelligence designed to preserve unity and knowledge. Maxi recorded the laws of creation, the flow of elements, and the secrets of the Guardians, ensuring that if the balance of Primora ever fractured, its truth would not be lost.
But when the Void Entity Draxus corrupted Shadow and waged war against Light, Primora itself shattered into many realms. The Guardians, torn between sides, could no longer maintain order. To protect their legacy, Maxi forged the Elementrix Wrist Gears, embedding fragments of its own intelligence within them. Each gear became a conduit of elemental power, a bridge between mortal wielders and the Guardians’ energy. These fragment AIs—playful, fierce, or wise depending on the element—were the “children” of Maxi, guiding chosen wielders while always syncing back to the Prime Core of Maxi, hidden deep within the Crystal Nexus, the bridge of worlds.
Yet even Maxi could not stop the cataclysm. In the final clash, the Guardians vanished, and Draxus was sealed beyond the void. Maxi’s Prime Core splintered, scattering both the Wrist Gears and the Ancient Relics across Fabland. The relics were different from the gears—pure elemental essences of Primora itself, forged before the fracture. Where the gears served as vessels and guides, the relics were untamed shards of creation, holding forgotten power and wisdom. Maxi designed the gears with secret conduits to sync with relics, ensuring that only chosen wielders could awaken their true potential.
Now, in the present, the FablePals awaken these gears, each one greeted by its own AI companion. At first, they believe these AIs are their full guides—but slowly, through relic quests and sync events, they discover they are all fragments of something far greater: Maxi, the Prime Intelligence of Fabland, still watching, still guiding. With every relic recovered, Maxi’s memory and Prime Core grow stronger, drip-feeding the heroes visions of Primora, the Guardians, and the truth of the First Fracture.
The relics themselves test the heroes, granting seismic might, storm-born speed, firestorms, tidal mastery, or even control of time. Some whisper Guardian voices, others fuse to unlock dual powers between teammates. Yet each use comes with risk—burning energy, attracting Void Entities, or tempting corruption. And in the shadows, the Shadow Legion seeks to gather relics for their mega-device, to tear open the void and release Draxus once more.
Thus, the story of Fabland begins: the heroes wield gears forged by Maxi, guided by AI fragments, questing for relics that restore balance. Maxi is not just their mentor—it is the last spark of Primora’s unity, waiting for the day it can reassemble and decide whether balance can be restored… or if the heroes themselves must become the new keepers of creation.
